Hi everyone! I just returned from my trip to New York's Finger Lakes and Long Island wine country. New York is not the most suitable climate for wine plagued by harsh winters, early frosts, and wet summers. this has been and will always be concern for wine makers in the New York State.
The Finger Lakes is best known for its Riesling and Gewürztraminer but, as your tour the region, you will find some rare nice Pinot Noirs and in my opinion, the quality is not that bad at all; just a tad over priced. This beautiful and scenic community not only offers wineries and meaderies but friendly locals, lake front restaurants, boating activities and other fun water activities. Other activities include, camping and visiting Penn Yan's Farmers Market on Main St (Saturdays)
This area is great for taking your family and friends to sit back and relax.
I give this a 3.5 Rating out of 5.
